1. The BGFurs Chat is strictly SFW/Safe For Work.

🌈 No NSFW or NSFL content is to be shared or discussed in chat. This includes but is not limited to images, videos, gifs, links, files, written works, innuendos, jokes, etc.

🍭 NSFW/Not Safe For Work = Content containing graphic violence, pornography, non-artistic nudity, slurs, or other potentially disturbing subject matter.
🍭 NSFL/Not Safe For Life = Content containing subject matter which may be traumatizing to view, such as murder, gore, or certain fetish material.

🌈 No illegal content is to be shared or discussed in chat.
🌈 Content depicting drug use is not to be shared in chat.

2. Respect all group members regardless of circumstance.

🌈 BGFurs is proudly queer-owned and operated. We do not tolerate bigotry, and we do not tolerate the intolerant.
Discrimination towards any person(s) or group of people for their race, ethnicity, skin tone, cultural practices, sexuality, gender identity/expression, weight, disability, income level, religion, etc., will be met with immediate consequences.

🍭 Do not use slurs in the chats or at meets, even if you can reclaim them. It is not appropriate.
🍭 No serious insults, backhanded statements, passive-aggressive comments, edgelord humor, etc.
🍭 If you’re asked to stop doing something or drop a topic, please listen.
🍭 If you are asking for someone to stop doing something that’s bothering you, please be kind about it.
🍭 Respect all members’ privacy. Photos from events containing peoples’ faces are to be censored/blurred effectively before uploading onto social media.

3. Be considerate of your fellow group members when chatting.

🌈 No spamming/clogging the chats. This includes with text, images, stickers, emoticons, and/or gifs. Large walls of text/monologuing are not appreciated and you will be muted for it.
🌈 No RP/Roleplaying in the chats.
🌈 When using Voice Chat, be mindful of audio. Use Push-to-Talk if necessary.
🌈 Refrain from venting about your personal life issues in the chats.
🌈 Try to use tone tags if someone needs them or asks you to clarify.
🌈 Use proper trigger tags/content warnings when posting sensitive content.

🍭 What is a tone tag?(Note: The “Infodumping” channel in the Discord Server is intended for sharing large amounts of information relating to a specific subject or interest. You are welcome to post large text walls there, but do be reasonable)

4. Political conversations/debates are to be kept to a minimum.

🌈 Discussion of Bowling Green area or Kentucky State politics is fine. Major political events may be mentioned or discussed briefly, especially if support is needed as a result, but all other rules must be followed during discussion.
🌈 Healthy debates are natural, but if you are asked to stop by anyone, admin or not, move the debate to DMs.

5. Advertising Guidelines

🌈 Artists may advertise commissions, art trades, and/or giveaways. Ads may be reposted once a week.

🍭 In the Discord Server, ads must be posted in the “Self Advertisement” channel. In the Telegram Chat, they may be posted as a normal message.
🍭 Services utilizing Generative AI, cryptocurrency or NFTs are not permitted to be advertised in the chats.
🍭 Sale posts unrelated to art or fursuits are allowed, as long as they abide by the rest of the rules listed here.

6. When you share artwork, credit must be given.

🌈 Credit the artist with their username or a link to their page. “Google” or “Pinterest” is not acceptable.
🌈 Please do not share paywalled artwork.

7. AI-generated content and NFTs are not allowed to be posted or shared in chat whatsoever.

1. Do not show up if you are sick!

🌈 There will be more events for you to attend when you're well again. Our events are fun, but not fun enough to risk spreading sickness.

2. Attendees must be at least 18 years of age or older to attend.

🌈 Childcare must be arranged separately, prior to furmeets. No infants/babies, toddlers or young children are allowed at meets at all, even if they're yours. No exceptions.

🍭 Note: Furmeets taking place at other events (such as the BG Pride meet) or in public spaces like restaurants, etc., will be considered all-ages. Our regular monthly meets, however, are 18+ only. Event attendees are expected to act accordingly during all-ages meets, and keep conversation topics casual.

3. PETS are, generally, not allowed at BGFurs meets.

🌈 Exceptions may be made depending on meet time and location, but you must have explicit permission from an admin before bringing your pet. If your pet is poorly behaved, not trained or is acting out, you and your pet will be asked to leave the meet. Further action may be taken depending on the severity of the situation.
🌈 ALL PETS must be leashed, and that leash needs to be attached to YOU at all times. NO EXCEPTIONS.

4. TRAINED SERVICE ANIMALS are allowed.

🌈 Our staff may ask "what is the service animal for?" and/or "what tasks does he/she perform?" if we are unfamiliar with you and/or your service animal.
🌈 "ESAs" or "Emotional Support Animals" are not permitted. Trained service animals only. Absolutely NO exceptions.

5. Attendees may bring friends who are supportive of/interested in the furry scene -- HOWEVER:

🌈 BGFurs meets are generally not open to the public. You should be in either the BGFurs Telegram chat, the BGFurs Discord, the KYFurs Telegram chat, or be invited to attend WITH a member of one of these chats before showing up. This is to ensure our member's safety.

6. We will be in a shared public space, unless stated otherwise. It's important that we are mindful of other people while we are out having fun!

🌈 We want the locals to have a decent perception of us to ensure that our events may continue, and we can achieve that by being respectful when we're out in public/using public facilities.
🌈 Remember that if you are at a furmeet, you are representing the local furry community. YOUR actions reflect on ALL of us!

7. Be conscious and respectful of the other attendees.

🌈 If something isn't yours, don't touch it. If you dont know whose it is, ask. Respect others personal space!

8. Please keep the volume at a reasonable level.

🌈 No shouting/yelling/screaming please. And if you are listening to your own music/watching videos, use headphones!

9. No noisemakers.

🌈 (Bluetooth speakers, kazoos, squeakers/squeaky toys, bird/other animal calls, instruments, noisy fidget toys, etc.,) are permitted in the meet area. If you would like to play music, please confirm with a meet organizer first.

🍭 (Note: Squeakers built into handpaws or other parts of your fursuit are fine, but excessive use is not appreciated and you may be asked to stop. Use good judgement and be reasonable, please!)

10. Stay around the meet area/with the group if you are fursuiting.

🌈 DO NOT EVER approach any individual or group of people outside of the meet, whether you are in a fursuit or not, even if they appear interested. Let them come to you!
🌈 Do not bring any member(s) of the public over to the meet area. You may invite others to join you in interacting with them instead. Not all of us are interested in interacting with non-furs during meets.

11. Make sure to pick up trash and bring everything you brought with you when the meet ends.

🌈 Leave nothing behind and leave the event space as you found it. If you break something that belongs to somebody else/the event space owner, please be honest.
🌈 Any items left behind will either be thrown away or taken home by one of the event organizers. You may collect items that you left behind at the next meet, or come get them before the next meet. If they are left with one of us for longer than a month (~28 days) they will be donated or tossed.

12. NO real guns/airsoft guns/BB guns/other weapons of any kind.

🌈 This includes pocket knives.
🌈 Prop guns/weapons should not resemble real guns/weapons and should be very obviously fake (water guns, foam based props, etc.). Prop weapons MUST be approved by a meet organizer in advance.
🌈 Military gear (bulletproof vests, helmets, uniforms, etc) are not permitted either. This includes cosplay.

13. Any and all drinks at the meet are to be non-alcoholic. Be sober* when you are attending.

🌈 It would also be appreciated if you did not smoke or vape in the meet area. Please use the designated smoking areas if there are any, or step outside/away to do it.

🍭 *Note: As of January 1st, 2025, medical marijuana is legal in Kentucky. We kindly ask that attendees do not partake during the meet, but if you need to do so beforehand, that is okay! Please be responsible when using marijuana in any capacity, and follow your doctor’s orders

14. Take a shower and use deodorant before you arrive.

🌈 Especially if you are going to be fursuiting. Practicing proper hygeine is not only good for you but it benefits others as well. No "musky huskies!”

15. Fursuits do not equal consent.

🌈 Make sure you ASK, DIRECTLY AND CLEARLY, before interacting physically (hugging, touching, etc) with a fursuiter, and ASK before taking their photo. If a fursuiter says no to anything, respect their answer and leave it at that.

16. Consent is important for everyone, including non-fursuiters.

🌈 Do not ever assume somebody's boundaries/comfort level with something. Don't touch or photograph anyone without getting explicit permission beforehand. If you take or save a picture and there are people in the background, blur their faces before posting on social media.

17. No hateful symbols/slogans/etc of any kind.

🌈 This includes but is not limited to t shirts, tattoos, jewelry, drawings, accessories, etc. You'll be asked to leave immediately and may be banned from future meets. We do not tolerate bigotry in any capacity here. This includes in your speech. Keep offensive/dark/shock humor to yourself.

If you are banned/have been kicked from the BGFurs, KYFurs, or other local chats you are not permitted to attend BGFurs events. NO EXCEPTIONS. Violation of this rule will be met with steep consequences.

If you see anyone causing trouble or breaking these rules, or if anyone is making you feel unsafe, unwelcome or hurt, please reach out to a member of our Admin Team so that we can address the issue, either in-person or online.Your safety is our top priority. Your reports will be handled with the utmost care, respect and compassion. 💖
